Movie Review - The Siege Of Jadotville

THE SIEGE OF JAOTVILE

BASIC PLOT
Irish soldiers hold off French and Belgian mercenaries in the congo for five days during the early 60s

CAST
Jamie Dornan as Patrick

FACT
Some of the weapons used in the movie were in fact the same weapons used in the conflict as they traveled to the same area and the production team paid for weapons in Africa to get the type to use.

THOUGHTS AN BEST BITS
Its Irish Zulu (1964) what can i say its fun simple and showing a sort of hidden dirty past when the goverment left and pretty much ditches the soldiers in one spot doesnt back them up in any way and then sweeps it away once its all over partly due to luck that no Irish died during the conflict or things would have been a bit more public

Directing wise ughh its ok its good but lacks a few finaly touches and feeling it was done very i dono like the battle takes place over 5 days but i couldnt after watching that have said yeh 5 days and nights or said yeh 5 fights and attacks its a bit lacking in parts like when you watch a good movie and see the area and shape of the rooms and can tell this actor goes down this location hes gonna walk into the bad guy around the corner this had none o fthat i couldnt tell the size or shape of the compound and see where shit was coming from it was a bit lacking thought and the director like most flicks these days never made a movie shocker like i feel like every time i say this shit im that cat in The Matrix (1999) hes made music videos for U2 "Hello Hello Old Man" and thats pretty much it so hes missing a plan to show case the fight and the fight feels like maybe they did all the action over a week an then cut it into different fights with edits its lacking direction really to make it great.

Cast wise well its a bunch of grunts and doing an ok job i was more confused as to who the lead was i new his face and he kinda with that tash felt like a younger skinny Henry Cavillbut fuck me its fifty shades of shite Jamie Dornan doing a relaly good job here hes on point got a look style and hes knocking it out the park with that little he has to work with the odd cameo for me was the kinda hot fat chick whos in the movie for all of 2 scenes and its the blonde from The Ninth Gate (1999) and Frantic (1988) Emmanuelle Seigner shes 50 as fuck her and reminds me of a hotter Stifflers mum but for the love of me whys she here the lines she has could have been said by anyone else already in the movie her role i thought was gonna come into play later but nah she shows up says shit gone for good lol. Other than that even with the randoms as the different soldiers i cant complain the style and feel was good a nice mix and the cast didnt bug me well other than Mark strings skinny nose just poking out at me in his cunty character his nose added to the hate lol.

Fun flick wish it had a few more mins maybe a few more days to film and money to spend on the action rather than here we are now fight that actors looked like they didnt have on any army gear at all no one carried ammo ? like your a soldier im sure that shit comes in handy maybe keep some on you lads and like if the director had took one scene to place fifthy shades on a roof with some of his men to look around and set up ok they might come in from thise side and help the viewer get what hes looking at cause it was a lot of long grass and fucking extras running into it to fire ak47s a few more bucks a fun flick if you had time to sit back and watch some night on netflix but other than that i dont see many people going out of there way to find this online or on dvd and blu ray taking off its got a heart felt ending and shows what cunts are in the real world but still.
