When the crew wake up at the start of the film in the hypersleep chamber Sigourney is ment to be nude but tape was placed over her nipples as not to offend some countries. The original cut of the film ran for over three hours. And Ripley was originally a male in the script and died at he very end of the movie.
THOUGHTS AND BEST BITS
As a kid at like maybe 11 years old my heart smashed against my damn chest when i seen the face hugger jump up at John Hurt holly shit it was great haha. And i do love the scene with old Tom skerritt in the vents just something about it is creepy and that child like fear of the dark and some shit coming to get you lol.
This is a fucking classic film. Its from the late 70s so dont expect a huge big budget scifi film or huge effects this is a slow story motivated film. But its enticing starting with the crew waking up from cryosleep and decide to investigate an unknown signal on some strange alien planet. And its unreal how cool and intriguing it is one the crew find the alien ship and some huge pilot dead inside. Its good from start to finish and does build up a nice bit of speed once things all kick off. But this is now so old its more of a nostalgia watch for people who grew up watching it if you grew up in the 90s not only do i hate you but you will hate this movie.
Cast wise its fantastic the actors are all perfectly picked. Sigourney at this time at least is an almost unknown. But John hurt and Tom Skerritt are great here just spot on character wise. The only person to bug me was that moany bitch Veronica Cartwright. Its not thats shes a bad actress i just hate her constant moaning in every film.
Effects wise well its not great these days i mean it does hold up good but its not a 200.000.000 dollar movie its old school set and models. But they do look great and its well directed. But the alien in one scene well it looks like a huge man in a rubber dildo suit. But most of the film is great to watch. So give it a download or catch it next time its on film4 or something but dont miss it.
